Biography
Anne Barros, RCA, received her BA from the College of New Rochelle, NY. She has been a practising silversmith in Toronto, Canada, since her graduation in Metal Arts, Gold and Silversmithing, from Humber College, Toronto, in 1978. Further study at the Sir John Cass School of Art in London, England, prepared her for a specialty in small functional hollowware and flatware. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, Japan, and Germany, and is included in the permanent collections of the Canadian Museum of History, the Art Gallery of Guelph, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Canada Council’s Paris Studio. As a writer she has documented metalworking in many articles and a book entitled Ornament and Object: Canadian Jewellery and Metal Art 1946-1996.
